Material Development

A central point in development activities is the materials. GPA uses both alloy options (higher element contents, addition of difficult-to-alloy elements) and process-related possibilities such as mixing different powders that powder metallurgy offers. By using these additional degrees of freedom, nano- and/or quasi-crystalline microstructures can be created in dispersion-strengthened materials.

The following alloys/properties/structures are primarily optimized:

  • heat-resistant materials
  • high-strength alloys
  • nanocrystalline Al alloys
  • quasi-crystalline Al
